Fläsch – the gem of the Bündner Herrschaft

Our Green Henry Lodge is located in the center of Fläsch, a municipality with 900 inhabitants in the Bündner Herrschaft in the canton Graubünden, Switzerland. Apart from its global fame as home of the legendary mountain girl Heidi, the sunny Bündner Herrschaft is renowned among wine connoisseurs around the world as one of Switzerland’s finest wine-growing regions.

Fläsch is the gem of the Bündner Herrschaft: the smallest, most beautiful, and best in winemaking of Bündner Herrschaft’s four villages. No village in the world has a higher density of outstanding winegrowers than Fläsch.

Fläsch (528 meters above sea level) lies at the foot of Fläscherberg, a mountain rising directly behind and 600 meters above the village. A range of spectacular higher mountains, including Pizol (2,844 m), Calanda (2,806 m), Falknis (2,562 m), Vilan (2,367 m), Gauschla (2,310 m), and Gonzen (1,830 m) are landmarks of Fläsch's surroundings.

The municipality of Fläsch borders the Heidi village Maienfeld, the famous spa town of Bad Ragaz, and Balzers in the Principality of Liechtenstein, one of the smallest (and richest) countries on earth.

Awarded with the prestigious Wakkerpreis by the Swiss Heritage Society in 2010 for its innovative village-planning and contemporary architecture, Fläsch is one of Switzerland’s most beautiful, interesting, and progressive communities.
